Wow, the diving, where do I start?
The water was beautiful, warm and clear blue,
just like paradise!
We saw the most beautiful soft corals and
sponges, numerous colorful fish, some sea
snakes that were lightning quick, huge puffers,
millions of sardines, some unusual clams, the
goofy looking frog fish, animated clowns in their
anemone, and the Lion fish and the turtels
and.....well, you get the drift!
One of my favorite dives was at Sunken Island, as
we headed out to the site on our boat, the dive
master told us the plan, and said we would see
some groups of Lion fish, and I kind of thought,
that is not a big deal, we see Lion fish all the time
on Saipan. We rolled over the side of the boat,
the boat Captain handed over my camera, I made
sure that Mark was ok, and we both started our
descent down. As we got down close to the
bottom of the reef, I saw the biggest snake
ever....Mark got a good picture of it, it was so fast
and it intimidated me a little, so I was glad when it
slithered off!
I dropped down a little deeper and I could not
believe the colonies or groups of Lion Fish that
were everywhere, groups of 8-10 were not
uncommon to see!
